Job Summary:

Support both Manufacturing and Engineering, specifically the Optic's Photolithography and Metrology areas. This includes, but not limited to, corrective and preventative maintenance, equipment selection and installation, and continuous improvement. Individual is self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:

  1. Maintain, repair, design, and fabricate on electrical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, and high vacuum equipment.
  2. Document work performed.
  3. Maintain required stock levels of spare modules, supplies and parts.
  4. Schedule preventative and corrective maintenance with departments.
  5. Write procedures for preventative and corrective equipment maintenance.
  6. Participate in equipment selection and installation.
  7. Design and install upgrades and modifications for new and existing equipment.
  8. Create documentation for projects, including drawings, schematics and parts lists.
  9. Troubleshooting of various control systems, including but not limited to, Programmable Logic Controller, (PLC), Human Machine Interface, (HMI) and machine control software (Automation).
  10. Maintain a safe working environment. Emergency Response Team member and off-shift safety contact.
  11. Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  1. Minimum two year technical degree in Electronics, Electrical Automation or equivalent education and experience.
  2. At least five year's work experience in manufacturing industry, including electronic/electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, automation/controls, computer, motion, etc. Prefer Semiconductor manufacturing experience with emphasis in photolithography and metrology. Additional experience with high vacuum, sputter, plasma etch, high purity gas delivery, etc. is also desirable.


To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.


  1. Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  2. Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to read/write/speak English.
  4. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Preferably working knowledge with automation software (PLC ladder logic, Beckhoff, etc).
  5. Experience with basic shop tools.
